WBRZ collection, 1969-1970.

The majority of the collection consists of photographs, illustrations, and engravings depicting historical personage, events and scenes related to American history, with an emphasis on Louisiana history from exploration to mid-20th century. Collection also contains television scripts for A CHILDHOOD CORNER by Harris Downey (Dec. 1969) and SOLITUDE that was produced Jan. 1970 for the program "Midday in Louisiana". Visual material includes slides of Solitude Plantation, West Feliciana Parish, La., for a feature on Solitude Plantation; two reels of motion picture film used for the same feature; and a videotape made by LSU CCTV of an interview about William Butler Yeats (June 31, 1970).

WBRZ-TV is a commercial television station serving Baton Rouge, La., and its vicinity. The station first signed on the air in 1955 as an affiliate of the National Broadcasting Company (NBC). At that time all programs were transmitted in black and white, and most were performed live. In 1966 the station was the first in Baton Rouge to broadcast in color.
